Welcome to the ODEs PILOT site
This page contains PILOT review sets, useful resources, and information.
[The semester has ended, please check all published semesters at home]

Session Information:
  • Term: Fall 2024
  • Dates: Between Sept. 3rd and Dec. 6th (inclusive).
Except for Thanksgiving break (Nov. 25th - Nov. 29th).
  • Please refer to your leader for their email, location, time, and other information.
PILOT Information:
  • PILOT is a loose acronym for peer-led-team learning. In the PILOT program, students are organized into study teams of six to ten members who meet weekly to work problems together. A trained student leader acts as captain and facilitates the meetings. PILOT aims to help students make a smooth transition to college life both academically and socially. More importantly, PILOT aims to actively teach and demonstrate how collaborative learning uses contributions from individuals to benefit a group.
  • For more information about PILOT at Hopkins, please visit its webpage.
General Resources:
  • PILOT Archives (Might Require JHED Login):
Archived documents for Ppast PILOT term, feel free to check out the documents for practices purposes.
  • Previous ODEs (MATH302) Class Page from Prof. Brown:
This page is an archive page that Professor Brown used for his ODE class in F18. Some notes and assignments might be helpful in providing materials for previewing or reviewing the materials.
  • Previous ODEs (MATH302) Class Page from Prof. Lindbald:
This page is an archive page that Professor Lindbald used for his ODE class in F14. Some notes and assignments might be helpful in providing materials for previewing or reviewing the materials.
  • Previous Hons. ODEs (MATH306) Class Page from Prof. Bernstein:
This page is an archive page that Professor Bernstein used for his Honors ODE class in F14. Some notes and assignments might be helpful in providing materials for previewing or reviewing the materials.
  • Pual's Online Notes for ODEs:
A popular site contributed by a professor includes notes and exercises from various classes. Note that more than ODEs can be found on this site, and the syllabus could vary among these classes.
Expectations:
  • Present to the weekly meeting. If you have any time conflicts or reasons, please notify your PILOT leader in advance. Note that attendance will be taken, and multiple absences might result in removal from this session.
  • Discuss with other students and/or the PILOT leader during meetings, while you may propose any questions and/or concerns if you have any.
  • Be respectful and polite to other students during the meetings. If you found any of the contents a mental challenge or uncomfortable, feel free to contact your PILOT leader or contact the Director of PILOT at Jenna Hoffman.
  • More expectations can be found in this poster.
Announcements:
  • 11/25/2024: Final Review set released, Final Review session information updated (12/8 at 4pm in Maryland 110).
  • 11/24/2024: All weekly PILOT set updated, please check below.
  • 10/14/2024: Sessions cancelled for 10/17 and 10/18 due to fall break. Information about virtual session can be found below. (10/16 at 7:30pm.)
  • 9/2/2024: Welcome to PILOT Learning.
Important Documents:
  • Conceptual Problem Set:
A specially designed extra problem set is updated for students who are interested in mathematical proof and fun questions underlying ODEs. The extra problem set contains approximately 2 problems for each week. This set is completely voluntary, and its contents are mostly outside the scope of this class (conventionally).
If you would want to discuss any problem, please email the HPLs.
  • Theorem Booklet:
This document includes various definitions, theorems, and formulas about ODE that was initially compiled during Fall 2022 and adjusted up until Fall 2024. The document is updated to accommodate this semester.
  • Laplace Table:
This document includes a table of Laplace transformation that most instructors would provide during their assessments. This document can be a helpful tool before your instructor has provided you with their version. This is not necessary this semester.
  • Activity Slide:
Here is a set of slides deck that we could be playing with when we need some engagements. Feel free to play with some of it in advance.
Weekly Documents:
Below shall contain the materials for each event.
